About Us

The Proud Heritage Trust is currently making an application for charitable status, advised by Mishcon de Reya. We are grateful for their pro bono support.

These are our official Objects:

1) To educate the public in the history, heritage, lived experience and development of the tolerance in the community of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, and those other people who, in different times and/or different places, express same sex love, same sex desire and/or gender transgression, and to promote the health and wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, and to promote social justice and to promote the establishment of good relations between lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and all members of the community, whatever their race, ethnicity, faith, disability, age or back ground.

2) To set up promote or subsidize museums designed to illustrate and guide the public in the history heritage lived experience and development of the tolerance in the community of the foregoing people.

3) To co-operate with other charities and voluntary bodies with similar Objects and to exchange information and advice with them.

4) To establish or support any charitable trusts, associations or institutions formed for any charitable purpose included in the Objects of the Company.

5) To co-operate with national and municipal authorities, and with the medical and legal and other professions, and community based initiatives, in achieving these Objects.

6) To acquire, conserve, preserve, restore and repair exhibits objects and collections, and promote the recording of matters pertaining to the objects and for the purposes of a museum, library and other facilities to present, promote organise, provide, manage and produce exhibitions, conferences, lecture tours, seminars, and literary, musical, dramatic and artistic entertainments or performances, that are conducive to the advancement of education and to formulate, prepare and establish schemes for them.
